What is the Food Safety and Hygiene Certification Eligibility?

The Food Safety and Hygiene Certification Eligibility is issued by a competent Authority to Food Service Providers when they have met all statutory requirements. This is one of the mandatory conditions that anyone, planning to open a Food Catering Service Business such as a restaurant, a café, a canteen, etc., must have.

2 Copy of the business registration certificate  
3 Written explanation describing how the applicant has met the food safety and hygiene conditions (of the physical location, equipment, and utensils) as prescribed by competent state management agencies  
4 Health certificates of the establishment’s owner(s) and all direct contact food production workers and traders – issued by a district (or higher-level} health establishment. By health facilities at district level or higher
5 Food safety and hygiene training certification of the establishment’s owners and all direct contact food production workers and traders demonstrating knowledge of food safety and hygiene as prescribed by line ministers According to regulations

Food Safety Knowledge Certification issuing procedures

The Certification of Food Safety Knowledge is a mandatory condition to complete the dossier of application for Food Safety Certification. Prior to applying for the Food Safety Certificate, the Owners MUST apply for this.

Competent agency: Department of Food Safety – Ministry of Health or Department of Agro-forestry-Fisheries Quality Assurance – Ministry of Agriculture.
