Following the success of previous FIDIC Contract Training Courses, on September 19, 2025, CNC collaborated to organize an intensive training course at Vietnam’s leading construction corporation – Construction Corporation No. 1 – JSC (CC1).

As one of the foremost construction groups in Vietnam with extensive reputation and multi-sector expertise, CC1 has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to service quality for its clients and partners by continuously enhancing its contract management capabilities and developing the competencies of its senior management team.

Objectives of the FIDIC Contract Training Course

This FIDIC Contract Training Course brought together 30 senior managers from key divisions and departments, including the Board of Management, Construction Economics Division, Construction Division, Control and Support Division, Civil, Transport & Infrastructure Division, Industrial and Civil Construction Division, and Human Resources Management Division.

The main objective of the training was to strengthen the participants’ ability to identify and manage issues arising under FIDIC contracts, thereby enabling managers across various divisions to effectively apply FIDIC standards and provisions during project implementation and operation.

To achieve these objectives, CNC designed the curriculum of the September 19, 2025 training course to cover both theoretical and practical aspects, focusing on the following core topics:

Throughout the FIDIC Contract Training Course, CC1 participants not only acquired in-depth knowledge through a curriculum specifically tailored to CC1’s capabilities and requirements, but also had the opportunity to discuss and resolve recurring challenges commonly encountered in practice, such as:

  • Preparation of tender letter and appendice;
  • The roles of the Engineer: Key differences between FIDIC and the laws of Vietnam;
  • Retention money: FIDIC’s approach versus practical application in Vietnam;
  • Taking Over: Certain derivative terms used in Vietnam;
  • Incorrect or missing references to FIDIC Clauses/Sub-Clauses when applied to specific events or situations;
  • Submission of Final Statement upon Taking Over phase;
  • Identification of Notice of Claims.
