CNC and the Society of Construction Law – Vietnam at HICAC2024
HICAC2024 – As a trusted and comprehensive partner, CNC has always accompanied SCLVN in major events and HICAC 2024 is no exception.
At the Ho Chi Minh City International Construction Arbitration Conference 2024 (HICAC2024) held by SCLVN, Mr. Le The Hung represented CNC as a moderator for Panel C1 on 26/4 at 8:30 – 10:00 (Conference Room 1) on the topic “Practical tips for Tribunals on using Tribunal-Appointed Experts in Civil Law Jurisdictions”
Panel C1 speakers are veterans in construction consultation from credible firms – both domestic and international – namely: Mr. Samuel Widowson – Director of Accuracy; Mr. Zheng Bao Quiang – Expert from HKA; Mr. Le Quan Tam – Deputy Director of CONINCO; and Mr. Le The Hung – Managing Partner of CNC Counsel.
This new topic has garnered the attention of many people, especially arbitrators and lawyers of Parties to disputes involving foreign elements. Specifically, the discussion focused on (i) The Role of the Arbitral Tribunal in the appointment of Experts; (ii) Legal Regulations of Civil law countries; (iii) Necessary procedures; (iv) Reference value in reports submitted to the Arbitral Tribunal by Experts.
The content – as outlined above – enhanced the awareness of participants in the implementation of projects, as well as their approach to and application of international experience within the context of Vietnam, thereby limiting the possibility of disputes and encouraging Project success.
HICAC2024 took place on the 25th & 26th of April 2024 at the Rex Hotel – located at 141 Nguyen Hue Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. HICAC2024 was the second International Construction Arbitration Conference held in Vietnam, following the success of the first conference, which was held at Le Meridien Saigon Hotel in 2023 by SCLVN (see more)
