Dispute Resolution at the Vietnam International Arbitration Center

Recently, Mr. Le The Hung and Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan accompanied Clients in the resolution of a dispute – valued at approximately 300-billion dong – at the Vietnam International Arbitration Center.

Appointed to participate in dispute resolution via Arbitration

CNC is honored to have been chosen as the legal consultant of choice for a Client throughout the implementation of a Project involving more than 3000 apartments which required a solution for many complex issues, including a media crisis at the Project[1]. With complete faith, the Client appointed CNC as the sole legal consulting unit in charge of dispute resolution pertaining to Contract Termination and Damage Compensation at the Vietnam International Arbitration Center.

With our effort, capabilities, and experience with dispute resolution via Arbitration, along with convincing evidence and argument, CNC successfully deflected unfounded claims of the opponents and defended the Client’s lawful rights and interests

Two days subsequent to the hearing, the Arbitral Tribunal issued an Arbitral Award that satisfied the entirety of the Client’s initial requests, thus preserving the lawful interests of the Client and dismissing all unsubstantiated claims regarding Extension of Time and Cost Compensation from the Contractor

Specifically, in this case, CNC represented the Client in resolving complex legal issues, including:

Delay penalties and damage compensation

Over the past 2 years, nearly 50 cases of dispute resolution have been represented by, as well as successfully resolved by CNC at major arbitration institutions in Vietnam and globally, most notably:

A dispute valued at approximately 700-billion dong involving Contract termination, damage compensation, extension of time for completion, final account, and maintenance for a Client in Hanoi
A dispute valued at approximately 300-billion dong regarding the handover of Works, maintenance, final account, extension of time for completion, and compensation for delays.
A dispute valued at approximately 1,000-billion dong regarding costs as a result of suspension (of almost 5-years) in the largest cable-stayed bridge construction package of the Southern Region.
